Feking, 11th. February, 1905.

With reference to the seizure of coal by the Viceroy and

your telegram No.6, I beg to inform you that I wrote to the Wai

Ma Pu today asking them to forward to the Viceroy direct orders to

deliver the coal over to you. I have to request that you will

notify the Viceroy to this effect and at the same time inform him

that if he wishes to bring any charge or clain against Fung Wa Chun,

he must do so before B.B.M. Court in your Consulate-General, this

being the usual procedure.

All communications to me on this subject should also be

forwarded by you to Hongkong.
